Evaluation point 3 – Audience Feedback and what I learned from it

Evaluation

For this task, I will be posting some of the audience feedback and insight on personal messages which I received on my video. My analytics for the video shows a wide international range who viewed it as well as teh drop out rate per second, and I really enjoyed getting feedback from a lot of people and looking at the figures of the number of people who viewed my video on YouTube

For my audience feedback I wanted to post my video on all the social platforms I could think of, in order to make sure I could reach a wider audience and try to promote my video similarly to how someone in PR or advertising would for their artist. Below is a video of me analysing these comments and describing what I believed I have learned from this and what I could do for next time

Social media is a key place to post and inform people due to it being the new way in today’s digimodern society to promote – advertise and inform people of a new event etc. So by posting it on social media platforms such as Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram, it is subjected to my ideal target audience allowing for more views and publicity. On each social media platform, I have many followers which are able to view my video and as well as that family and friends have shared it to allow their friends to comment and give their feedback.

Here are a couple more comments in which I received for my music video and I will tell you again what I learned from this:

When I shared this on facebook my family shared it onto there page allowing me to get more feedback from a wider range of audiences such as age range, likes, and dislikes which gave a more variety of feedback in which I received. The comment from Hannah told me that she as an adult in teh age category enjoyed watching it telling me that my music video appealed to a wider range of audience than originally expected to lead on to a higher profit margin and publicity. She also got the themes and issue and understood them well which makes me learn that I portrayed these well throughout and managed to make it mature enough for an older target audience along with not being too graphic for the teen to a late teenage category which helps me for a future music video on such a strong topic

Here are some further comments as well from the same age range (Adult)

And lastly here are some in-depth comments which my original age target audience (Teen to late teen) and scensters liked about my music video

Screen Shot 2018-03-14 at 16.06.12.png

Here is a screen video using QuickTime player showing some interesting analytics into the geographic areas in which my music video was viewed in – this gives me a clear idea of what a vast international areas watch my music video – so for next time I may research an involve areas in which they will like to see in my future music videos to gain more views internationally

Here is also an interesting view watching rate throughout my video in which it shows teh percentage of views dropping rate. It overall shows a slow descent in views as the video goes on which tells me I maybe next to make a more intriguing and exciting storyline. But interestingly the views don’t drop when the chorus and clips of teh dancers are shown telling me I should have including more interesting and in general more dance clips. This maybe could have kept the interest of my audience and made more view until the end.

Overall, My analytics – although seem limited due too many dropouts throughout – for a first music video, these views are quite high in comparison to my market competitors. My audience feedback was all very positive and gave me a strong idea of what I did well in and what I will need to improve on for my next production. By posting my music video on many different social media websites it gave me an insight of where my key target audience was – which I found was Instagram- due to it having the most views and diverse comments in direct messenger. I also managed to gain views from an unexpected target audience due to posting it on the social media platform Facebook – this allowed an older generation to view as I stated previously.

Evaluation Point 2 -How effective is the combination of your Music video and your ancillary

Evaluation

Here is my evaluation point 2 -How effective is the combination of your Music video and your ancillary. Here in the video below, I am describing how all my final products link together. I created this through powtoon, iMovie, Quicktime player along with boomerang. I created this mostly through powtoon but to add the moving images I needed to transport the video to iMovie to create that picture in picture effect, to enable me to do that I needed to take a screen video of the presentation so I could do this. By doing this it allows me to allow the audience to understand how I did this and why, along with giving myself those answers to help with future production.

Evaluation Point 1 – How my Final Media Product Uses, Develops, and Challenges Forms of Real Media Products.

Evaluation

For this task, I will be exploring what ways my final music video was influenced by real media. I will be posting a directors commentary with segments of my video next to the music videos I used by various artists for inspiration and will be commenting on how and why I took inspiration from them and applied it to my final work. I speeded up my narration due to how long the video was and it also makes it easier to listen to. By doing a directors commentary it allows my audience to know why and where the inspiration has come from. I feel my music video is very unique as I only really pastiched a few ideas from Lana del Reys videos but these were only based and not copied so I feel my music video is very different in comparison to other media forms. My music video develops adn challenged convetiosn from otehr music videos as well by using everyday aspects such as dance etc and chnge it into a more meaningful aspect of movemnt to promte messages within my musc video – which I explained in the comintary – I used iMovie and quick time player to produce this due to the simplicity. I wanted teh audience to focus on what I was saying rather than the use of creative ict throughout as what I am talking about is very relevant to modern contemporary features in today’s society and may help others in choosing ideas for there music video.

Digipak Advert Final

DigiPak

Here is my final edited digipak after reviewing and changing it after taking to account audience feedback. I changed the colouring from the bright orange vibe to a darker red style with a red light overlay. I also took the advice to change the logos to a transparent background so that they blended in more. I feel this has improved my advertisement greatly by making it fit the genre better along with making it look more sleek/professional as the logos don’t stand out too much and break the authenticity.

Digipak Advert 5 & 6 – Mock Up and Audience Feedback

Digipak - Advert

For this I created a mock-up of my advert and asked for some audience feedback.

Screen Shot 2018-02-12 at 16.49.14.png

After hearing from my target audience I decided to change some aspect of my poster to make them follow more of the colour scheme that I used in my digipak and in my music video

NDg0NDgz.gif

Here is what they said in written form –

Love it I like the shapes and the colors fits well with your genre xx

Is there any way the icons at the bottom could be more integrated? Like getting rid of the black/white backgrounds? Other than that it looks awesome

I love it but I was just thinking the actual video is quite dark maybe the cover gives off a happier n different mood?

I love how bold the title is, it, links to who sings it and to who the girl is on the front for those who don’t know who the artist is. It also doesn’t draw all the eye to only the title which is good, it draws us to the whole poster which allows us to look and absorb all of the information rather than the title taking over the main focus well-done xx

I have analysed and noted down this feedback in which I will change on my poster so it will be as professional as I can make it. I understand where they are coming from and I will now work on making my final poster for my album releases. By taking down audience feedback it allows for a 3rd hand perspective review from potential target audience members and takes feedback for want they want to change. This allows me to change parts in which my target audience would like allows for more likes on my poster and viewers to my music video luring in profit margin as I would have changed thing in which they didnt like before releases the final poster avoid possible dislike

Digipak Advert 4- Flat Plan

Digipak - Advert

IMG_0449For this point, I will be detailing my flat plan for my poster and highlight what I need to put in to make my poster conform to both my chosen genre and music industry standards by using videos to explain this

Here is my flat plan for what I will be putting on my poster and why. I created a drawn-out image (As seen above) and picture on picture vlogs to describe what I will do and why. I didnt mention this but I closely followed professional `rots lord heroine poster to create my advertisement to make it seem professional, I did not copy it, I just mimic the layout to allow for a Profesional feel bit yet a simplistic layout as I wanted the potential buyers to focus on teh whole poster rather than just one particular aspect. I will try and mimic this to a high standard but may add or a remove a few aspects after creating as I may have missed out a few parts of my flat plan. By doing a flat plan it allows me to understand what I should involve on my poster and research other posters to allow mine to look high-quality and of a professional standard as it won’t look rushed or have items in the wrong place.

Digipak Advert 2 – Recreate Advert

Digipak - Advert

For this task, I need to recreate an Advert poster of my choice. This is similar to digipak point 5 but this time it is an advertising poster. By doing this it allows me to understand how to make a poster to advertise a CD and practice the skills and techniques I will need to use for my final poster Advert. I will be closely mimicking Lordes Advert for her album Heroine.
